My mom is a list maker. My sisters are list makers. I am a list maker. And before my niece could write, she made scribbles on a piece of paper and it was her packing list for spending the night at my house. I remember that cute little list… “up here in the corner I drew a mouse, we are going to pretend he gets into our food while we camp”. I love seeing kids use their imaginations!
List making is not always task oriented…do this, do that!
At the beginning of each month I like to sit down and set goals for that specific month. These goals could be business related [work on advertising], fitness related [integrate more yoga and stretching], health related [add more dark leafy greens], or relational [be more intentional in my conversations]. This list of goals is more something to strive for, not a task that will ever be fully completed, but one that I will continue to build on. One that I can put a check mark next to at the end of the month if I feel like I improved on it, but one that I know is never truly complete.
Then there are the task oriented lists… the items that NEED to get done, and MUST be checked off as COMPLETED. Like setting the launch date for the next set of books. Listing out illustrations yet to be done for those books. Social media posts. Small business webinars and trainings. And more, but I think you get the point. Once I publish this post, that will be checked off the list!
Speaking of which, time management and cutting out distractions is on that list of monthly goals; and I am taking far too long writing this post. Happy FRIDAY! Have a fabulous weekend, and if you don’t already, be sure to follow us on Instagram, and Facebook… you might just get to enter some awesome giveaways.
