Taking a park that is so big, with so much diversity, and breaking it down for young children to understand had its challenges, but it was so fun! Natural wonders are simply amazing… mud pots and fumeroles, geysers and prismatic springs… I mean… wow!
Here are a few of my favorite pages from the Yellowstone book set!

Conifers… year round interest… producing very different cones or berries that feed so many birds and animals, what’s not to love? The wolves for number 10 were probably the most time consuming to draw, a few times I questioned why I set it for the number 10… I should have done a smaller number- but the snowy scene turned out great! And for number 11, I always enjoy the smaller things of nature!

Not often do I include structures or historical landmarks in my books… I like to focus on nature. However, Yellowstone is so rich in history being the first National Park, it was hard not to include the amazing structures that make the park special.

I seriously learn so many fun facts about animals it is hard to decide what to put into the books. So many fascinating details and each animal has unique quirks. —> small + BIG was a fun one!!
Some fun things ahead for Baby Ranger Books here in the next few weeks – excited to share the news!
